The Skagit Bay Estuary is a wildlife protected area on Fir Island near Conway, Washington in Skagit County. There are trails through the area that are qutie difficult at times, when they can be extremely muddy. There are also several deep cuts in the surface cut by tides that you have to cross on logs set across them. If you follow the trail to the end you come to a large rocky “island’ that you can climb overto get the the water. I found this creature one day when the tide was out.
